I shot this photo of a Vietnamese woman at the farmers market in Hoi An.

She's wearing a traditional South East Asia conical hat, also known as a nón lá.

We know these hats as a coolie hat, or perhaps a rice hat.

They are very popular in Vietnam due to their simplicity, and the fact that when wet - they offer a very efficient cooling solution...
