I spotted this rusty old farm truck in a remote back country town in the South Island. I have always been drawn to old things that are trying hard to resist the passage of time and this one grabbed me by the scruff and just begged to be recorded for posterity!

The colour pallet is almost too good to be true here. House and truck are almost the same colour and the light blue coming through the flaking cream paint matches the background sky and the lamp in the window. So many things.....

I also love the fact that the wheel is a solid theme with this image. Horses and carts were replaced with cars and trucks and Its almost as if the wagon wheel is teasing the old truck by showing it what will be coming its rusty way in years to come. Either that or the owner just likes collecting rusty things...

This image is one of my favourites, so as such makes it into the 1st cut for the book.
